Bread & Roses Magazine

Brood & Rozen is an Amsab-ISG publication and the most widely distributed historical-scientific journal in Belgium. It publishes engaging articles on the history of social movements four times a year and is aimed at both academic researchers and the general public.

The Studio Stone photo exhibition the work of Cami and Sasha Stone : a photographic duo who emerged as one of the most innovative voices in European photography during the interwar period.

After a successful exhibition at the Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi, their groundbreaking work can now also be seen in our public space in Ghent.

Free admission on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, September 27, October 11, and November 8, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Welcome!

Brigadistas from Belgium database , recently launched by Amsab-ISG, compiles their stories through biographical records, archival material, and photos. A unique resource for historians, researchers, and anyone interested, based on years of research by Rudi Van Doorslaer and François Van Pelt.

Website Studio Stone now

Studio Stone , a project by Amsab-ISG and the Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi, brings the versatile oeuvre of the forgotten interwar photographers Cami and Sasha Stone back into the spotlight.

In addition to the exhibition – on view until November 21st at Amsab-ISG – and the accompanying catalog, there is now also the Studio Stone website : a unique digital archive offering a thematic overview of their work. It collects rarely seen photographs and documents, accessed through IIIF where possible, thus offering a broader perspective on their artistic world and legacy.
