On Wednesday 28 May the new database will be launched in Amsab-ISG Ghent Brigadistas from Belgium presented, with biographical data of more than 2.000 Belgian volunteers in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). The result of years of research by Rudi Van Doorslaer and François Van Pelt will be explained that afternoon during a workshop with lectures and a public debate.
In the week of March 17, 2025, Sofie De Baere of Amsab-ISG represented the Feestlokaal Vooruit during a workshop in Australia, in the context of the World Heritage dossier on Workers' Assembly HallsWith this dossier we aim for recognition of the social impact of public houses as world heritage.
Back to start? takes you through a hundred years of leisure history in a playful way. In response to Heritage Day – with the theme game on! - we delved into our collection in search of historical images and authentic games that show how free time – and the way we think about it – has changed over the years.
The exhibition will be on display at the Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi until 18 May Studio Stone, with 80 pieces from the Amsab-ISG collection.
The expo 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 was festively concluded on Friday 28 March 2025 with a final visitor moment and a spectacular drag performance by Krasna, Chéri.e and J BOY.
We look back on a fantastic expo – the best visited ever in our public space! Thanks to everyone who came by and made this experience so special.
The heritage project Digital there has started in full swing. Over the next two years, we will be working on creating a virtual archive and museum space in the metaverse, with the aim of preserving the heritage of Voem non-profit organization to present to a wider audience in an interactive and accessible way.
