Data salon

Artificial intelligence in the heritage sector

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an indispensable part of our daily lives – including in the heritage sector. The technology is evolving rapidly, bringing both opportunities and questions. How can we handle it ethically? What are the technical and legal challenges?

These questions are already being explored in ongoing projects like MODAL , coordinated by ADVN and partnered with Amsab-ISG. MODAL investigates how AI systems like Large Language Models – which automatically generate texts – can assist with metadata creation and access to digital archives.

Meeting and exchange

During the data salon, heritage professionals will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge. The focus will be on practical examples, experiments, and concerns. It's the perfect opportunity to share ideas and reflect together on the future of AI in the sector, in an accessible and informal setting. The data salon also marks the launch of a new peer group on AI and heritage.

For whom?

For anyone working in the heritage sector, already working with AI, or wanting to learn more. Both pioneers and interested beginners are welcome.
