Digidaar is a virtual archive and museum in development that interactively showcases the heritage of Voem vzw . Voem has been building bridges in a super-diverse society for over 35 years. The organization's archive—containing photos, posters, documents, and audiovisual material—is stored at Amsab-ISG and forms the basis for this digital project.
Digidaar is being developed within the Heritage and Diversity in the Metaverse (2024–2026), in close collaboration with the communities surrounding Voem. Their stories and ideas will help shape the design and content of this virtual space. With Digidaar, we aim not only to preserve heritage but also to make it accessible to a broad and diverse audience—with a special focus on young people and underrepresented groups.
The project is an initiative of Amsab-ISG and Voem vzw, with technical support from the Czech company Space Makers. You can get a first look at this digital home for heritage during Heritage Day on April 27th at the Winter Circus in Ghent.
