Digital there is a virtual museum under construction that will showcase the heritage of Voem non-profit organization is unlocked in an interactive way. Voem has been active as a bridge builder in the super-diverse society for over 35 years. The organization's archive - with photos, posters, documents and audiovisual material - is stored at Amsab-ISG and forms the basis for this digital project.
Digidaar is being developed within the project Heritage and diversity in the Metaverse (2024–2026), in close collaboration with the communities around Voem. Their stories and ideas help shape the form and content of this virtual space. With Digidaar, we not only want to preserve heritage, but also make it accessible to a broad and diverse audience — with special attention to young people and less represented groups.
The project is an initiative of Amsab-ISG and Voem vzw, with technical support from the Czech company Space Makers. During Heritage Day on 27 April, you will get a first look at this digital home for heritage in the Wintercircus in Ghent.
