The Suzan Daniel Fund and Amsab-ISG will take you through decades of LGBTQ+ engagement. We'll highlight their challenges, their victories, and how they actively shaped a new future. You'll gain insight into their activism, in a broader context, and its impact on future generations.
The exhibition was curated by Bart Hellinck, historian and employee of the Suzan Daniel Fund.
We also present the installation "Queering the Home ," made possible in part by Ghent European Youth Capital . In it, several young people offer insights into what it means to them today to be queer and to feel at home. Using submitted photos, testimonials, and interior elements, they created an intimate atmosphere that exudes strength and vulnerability.
As the icing on the cake, the feminist collective Pardon! is showcasing their Kwier Kaart , a visual representation of the personal experiences and important places of queer youth in Ghent. This map, compiled by the young people themselves, will also be published as a zine, which will be available for free during the exhibition.
