On Monday, May 22, the Center for the History of Migrants and Amsab-ISG are organizing an open workshop at our location in Ghent, themed "For and by Migrants? Recent Trends in Research on Migration History in the Netherlands and Flanders .

During this workshop, we want to give young researchers and ongoing research projects the opportunity to share their preliminary research insights. In addition to eight presentations, there will also be room for poster presentations during the reception afterward.

The workshop will focus on the role of people with a migration background themselves in the historiography of migration. To what extent do they take initiative or are they involved? What effects do acquired insights have on their identity and their role in society? We ask that the speakers address this aspect.

Would you like to present your research project at our open workshop in Ghent on May 22nd?
