The sixth edition of the Day of Belgian Migration History will take place on September 28, 2023, in Brussels. This study day offers all those interested in the history of migration in Belgium (whether from academia or not) the opportunity to connect and share the latest findings from ongoing or completed research. This year, the day will take place on the Solbosch campus of the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Themes from Belgian migration history can be explored in various sessions, in French and Dutch. There will also be room for poster presentations by emerging researchers, heritage partners, and other interested parties. The day will conclude with a debate on the question: Is it necessary to have a migration background to study the history of immigration?
The organizing committee cordially invites you to submit your proposal for a paper or poster presentation. All contributions related to research on the history of migration in the 19th and 20th centuries are welcome.
