We offer two different classes:
- To vote or not to vote? The right to choose
Starting in 2024, 16- and 17-year-olds will also be allowed to vote in the European Parliament. What do young people think of lowering the voting age? Do they consider compulsory voting relevant? To form a strong opinion, young people should first gain insight into the current situation and why it is (or has become) the way it is. As an Institute for Social History, Amsab-ISG can view the present from a strong historical perspective. An arsenal of collection items (posters, speeches, etc.) illustrates this history and brings it to life. Knowledge of this heritage thus ensures that young people better understand the impact their engagement can have today.

- Heritage and LGBTI+ in the classroom. Getting started with the Rooie Vlinder archive.
Interested in a workshop where students work with real archive documents and also learn about a fascinating part of the emancipation history of the LGBTI+ movement in Belgium?During this session, students will delve into the rich archives of the Rooie Vlinder, a Belgian socialist activist group for the liberation of homosexuality (1976-1981). Students will analyze various archival documents and then discuss them with each other to formulate an answer to the question: "What does studying the Rooie Vlinder archive teach us about the various forms of exclusion of non-heterosexual people during the 1970s and 1980s in Belgium?"
