They not only make the first-generation women from Turkey visible in the migration history of the Netherlands and Belgium, but also passionately advocate for archiving all these stories.
Çiğdem Yüksel is currently running an exhibition entitled "You Should Know" at the Fotomuseum in Rotterdam, which highlights the lives of the first generation of women from Turkey in the Netherlands. Neslihan Doğan supervised the Ghent-Turkish Heritage project at STAM, the oral history project "The Women of Breskens" at Amsab-ISG, and will begin a doctoral dissertation on the first generation of Turkish women in Ghent in 2025.
