About Amsab-ISG

The Amsab Institute for Social History is a recognized cultural archive and scientific research center. We preserve, protect, and unlock the heritage of social movements and individuals who resist injustice and strive for a society with greater equality, solidarity, and sustainability.

You make history, we save it.

Mission

Amsab-ISG is the memory of social movements and engaged citizens who are fighting injustice and inequality. In their quest for equality, sustainability, and a better quality of life, themes such as labor, the environment, migration, gender, human rights, and global justice are central. Amsab-ISG's core mission is to preserve, protect, and maximize the accessibility of the heritage generated by these efforts.

Vision

As a recognized cultural archive, we guarantee professional and sustainable care for the heritage entrusted to us. Through research and public initiatives, we bring the often invisible, hidden histories of our heritage communities to light. We do this in ongoing dialogue and in collaboration with our heritage communities, volunteers, and professional partners at home and abroad.

In this way, we serve as a link between heritage and the public, encouraging encounters and debate. In this way, we contribute to greater historical awareness and a society in which everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
