A Golden Book (or livre d'or ) is a preciously produced book or album in which the history of the association is recorded, including the statutes, regulations, and the association song. Special events, such as an anniversary or the death of the chairman, are given a dedicated page. These pages are often decorated by renowned artists. Distinguished attendees also sign their names to emphasize the historical significance of the occasion. A Golden Book is a prestigious object for an association, a testament to its history and importance. For this very reason, its contents should be taken with a grain of salt. There is a high probability that the association will try to gloss over the less appealing aspects (source: AMVB).
