Amsab-ISG participated in the international iPRES conference with a presentation on the AIDA network in Flanders.

Last week, from September 16th to 20th, the iPRES 2024 conference took place at the Bijloke in Ghent. IPRES is an international gathering of experts in the preservation and management of digital heritage. It has been held annually since 2004, but each time at a different location. The previous edition, for example, took place in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, United States. The topics are very broad, ranging from archiving email and websites to product presentations for new storage media, workshops on reading outdated digital media, and how to maintain the complex digital infrastructure of government archives or university libraries.

Amsab employee Maarten Savels gave a presentation about the AIDA network and how small archive institutions can collaborate to set up a digital preservation service.

For those interested in attending a conference themselves, the next edition will take place from November 3rd to 7th, 2025, in Wellington, New Zealand. See: https://www.ipres2025.org/.
