Last year and early this year, Amsab-ISG interviewed several former chairmen of the association. Natuurpunt itself uses its own volunteers to interview local pioneers. To better support these volunteers, a webinar was organized on June 15th. Employees Lori Verhoeven and Maarten Savels gave attendees a crash course in oral history. After an introduction to the importance of interviews, we delved deeper into how to conduct a successful interview and the technical and administrative challenges involved. The reusability of testimonies as historical sources was also discussed.
The webinar unfortunately started on a sour note. That very day, news broke that Edgard Kesteloot, one of the association's most important pioneers, had passed away at the age of one hundred .
