The tenth edition of the Festival of Equality take place on December 12, 13, and 14, 2024. This year, Amsab-ISG will host numerous engaging panels and workshops, following the current exhibition " Young and Queer Since the Sixties ."

The program that will take place in Amsab-ISG is as follows:

December 12

2:45 - 5:15 PM: Making Zines (workshop by Pardon!)

Pardon! is a feminist artistic collective from Ghent. They create zines, organize events, and give workshops with intersectional feminism as a common thread. In this way, they aim to engage in conversation, raise questions, and formulate answers to the social justice issues that keep us awake at night. At the Festival of Equality, they are organizing a zine-making workshop exploring linocuts as an art technique.

18:30 - 20:00: The Meaning of my life

If their book has an epigraph, what meaning takes precedence in the writer's life? In the literary podcast "The Meaning of My Life, " Anneleen search for that one sentence that has changed the lives of writers, given them a decisive twist. A sentence that gives meaning to their lives.
During the festival, there will be a live podcast recording with guest Fleur Pierets.

December 13

15:30 - 17:30: The intersection of LGBTI+ and poverty (workshop in collaboration with Kliq/çavaria)

Want to learn more about the intersection of LGBTI+ and deprivation? Discover it in the interactive workshop offered by çavaria's Deprivation Working Group. This engaging session will reveal crucial aspects of LGBTI+ and offer insights into the complex reality of deprivation.

18:30 - 20:00: Rights and care for non-binary and trans people 

Cavalier Queer presents an Intergenerational Queer Table Talk, derived from The Red Table Talks, a forum where the perspectives of three different queer generations on a wide range of social issues are shared from a queer perspective. The theme for the Festival of Equality will be "Rights and Care for Non-Binary and Trans People."

8:30 PM - 10:15 PM: Hamdam Jam Session (by Arshe vzw and de Koer)

Welcome to an evening full of music, creativity, and connection! Bring your own instrument or use one of ours, sing, dance, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Share your musical talents, meet new people, and create something beautiful together.
